Buying from Korea Safely: Check the Seller First

BTSDB Guide · Business — K-beauty, K-pop merch, fashion and wholesale

Korean products are everywhere — and so are fake "Korean" shops. Scam sites copy real brands' photos, quote unbeatable prices, and disappear after payment. Korea's consumer law works in your favor here: every legitimate Korean online seller must register with the Fair Trade Commission and display its business number on the site. That gives you a verification trail most countries don't have.

The 3-minute seller check
1
Scroll to the site footer. A real Korean shop lists: company name, representative, business registration number (사업자등록번호), and an e-commerce license number (통신판매업신고). No footer info = walk away.
2
Verify the business number in the BTSDB checker — the company must be Active. Scam shops often display the number of a closed or unrelated company.
3
Match the domain. Our results show the domains registered on the seller's e-commerce license. The shop you're on should be one of them — a mismatch means the "shop" is borrowing someone else's identity.
